Trading leveraged FX, metals and CFDs entails risk and could result in the loss of your capital. Full risk disclosure
What we collect, why we hold it, who else touches it, and how to get it back or have it deleted. Written against what the software actually does, not against a template.
In short: we hold your trading data because the product is a journal. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics anywhere on this site, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

This policy explains how AP Trade Action ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit aptradeaction.com or use the journal, backtesting terminal and trading-agent desk we provide there.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Our customers are international, so section 12 sets out the additional rights you have if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with its own data-protection law.
We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at support@aptradeaction.com.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, government identity documents, payment card numbers, broker passwords or any sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act.
We use personal information to:
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you (running the product, taking payment); our legitimate interests in securing the service, preventing abuse and improving it, weighed against your rights; your consent where we ask for it, such as push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time; and compliance with a legal obligation.
We do not use your personal information for advertising or profiling, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
This is worth stating precisely, because AI features are the part of a product where data most often goes somewhere unexpected.
We make one model call of our own: the trade importer. When you upload a statement or paste trade text, the column layout or that text is sent to Anthropic on our key so it can be recognised and mapped. That is the only feature that runs on a key we hold.
Every other AI feature — the trade review, the macro and news read, the backtest judges and chat — runs on your own trading agent, using your own model provider API key, held there. The relevant trade, note, plan or market data is sent to that provider under your own account and their terms. We do not hold that key, and your usage is billed to you by them directly.
We do not use your content to train models, and we do not permit our model provider to train on it. If you would rather nothing you write reaches a model, do not use the AI features and do not use the importer's assisted mapping.
Data is held in our own database on infrastructure we operate in Microsoft Azure, with encrypted off-site backups retained on a rolling basis. Some of our providers operate globally, so your data may be stored or processed outside the country you live in, including in Australia, the United States and the European Union.
Where personal information is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the transfer mechanisms those laws provide — including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with our providers, and the UK addendum where it applies.
Protections we apply:
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires, and any other regulator we are required to notify.
We keep your account and its contents for as long as your account exists, because the product's value is the history. Delete an individual trade, note or account inside the app and it is removed, other than a record that the broker account was deleted so the sync does not re-create it.
Ask us to close your account and we will delete it and its personal information within 30 days, other than what we must keep — billing and tax records, which we keep for seven years, and anything needed to establish or defend a legal claim. Sign-in codes expire in minutes. Operational logs are short-lived. Backups roll off within a fortnight, so deleted data can persist in a backup for up to that long before it is gone.
You can ask us to:
Write to support@aptradeaction.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. We do not charge for a request, and if we ever decline one we will tell you why.
You can revoke a broker or agent connection yourself at any time from within the app or from the provider, and turn push notifications off in your browser or device settings.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, write to support@aptradeaction.com with the detail and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can instead complain to the supervisory authority where you live, work, or where you believe the problem occurred.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you also have the rights to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, to ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved, to receive your data in a machine-readable format and have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible, and to withdraw a consent at any time without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
Our legal bases are set out in section 3, our transfer mechanisms in section 8, and the address for exercising any of these rights is support@aptradeaction.com. We have not appointed an EU or UK representative; we handle these requests directly.
The service is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to support@aptradeaction.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. The current version is always at aptradeaction.com/privacy, with the date it was last updated at the top. For a material change we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
